"The MOUSE Squad students are demonstrating leadership skills, learning about responsibilities and how to communicate with adults. This program is inspiring our students and giving them a glimpse of future career opportunities.”
Carla Haakma, Principal, Los Arboles Elementary, San Jose, California
The MOUSE Squad program is having a positive impact in many locations across the country, including New York City, Chicago, California, Texas and Connecticut. To bring this innovative program to your location, you can chose a Single-Site or Multi-Site Regional Partnership.
MOUSE Squad Single-Site Membership
Schools, afterschool programs, non-profit organizations and other MOUSE Squad sites across the country are able to license the MOUSE Squad program on a year-to-year basis. Membership includes:
- MOUSE Squad Certification: A comprehensive, standards-based, online curriculum that facilitates the training of student technicians in computer troubleshooting, help desk operations and customer service skills.
- Collaborative Online Learning: MOUSE Squad’s national website www.mousesquad.org facilitates communication, collaboration and creativity among students and educators, featuring the MOUSE Squad Wire, discussion forums, and authentic project management tools.
- MOUSE Squad Kit: Includes all that a school needs to get started, including MOUSE Squad DVD, USB drives, posters, checklist and computer toolkit
-
Program Evaluation: Ongoing formative evaluation and program assessment resources which provide information critical to the success and continuous improvement of MOUSE programs.
MOUSE Squad Regional Multi-Site Partnership
MOUSE will partner with schools, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) or other nonprofits to create a customized multi-site membership package for a minimum of ten sites. With support and training from MOUSE, Regional Partners will develop a local MOUSE team to facilitate the program at MOUSE Squad sites in their region and to provide additional services, including:
- MOUSE Squad Training: MOUSE provides Team Training, an opportunity for students and educators to participate as a team in hands-on training sessions focused on leadership, team building and help desk skills. Additionally, MOUSE offers Train the Trainer sessions for educators, which highlight skills necessary to run the student help desk, MOUSE curriculum and strategies to engage students as they learn about technology.
- Technical Assistance: Ongoing technical support for the implementation of our MOUSE Squad program.
