Elena Chon,
Senior Director of Program Delivery
Elena Chon leads Program Delivery at Mouse, bringing 20 years of experience building, leading, and scaling transformational educational programs. She partners with K–12 schools, higher-education institutions, cultural organizations, and community groups to close opportunity gaps for marginalized learners. Elena believes that technology can be a powerful catalyst for agency and social change, and she is dedicated to expanding inclusive, justice-driven computer science and AI educational experiences.
Before joining Mouse.org, Elena held leadership roles at the New York City Department of Education. There, she operationalized teacher development programs across 1,800 schools, launched a citywide afterschool initiative serving thousands of middle school students, built a 65-member higher-education policy alliance, and directed budgets up to $20 million. She also led strategic initiatives at The Fund for Public Schools, Columbia University, and the American Red Cross. Elena holds an M.S. in Business Management and Leadership and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Public Administration and Public Policy from the City University of New York. She earned a B.S. in Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
