Gemelli Briceño,

Senior Program Manager

Gemelli graduated Summa Cum Laude from Knoxville College in Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She then worked at Northside Center for Child Development as a Program Assistant and Head Counselor for the after-school program. While there, she created and implemented an outline of lesson plans for the summer program that introduced STEM education concepts to underrepresented students. Gemelli was eventually recruited by the Intake Department at Northside where she assisted in providing mental health services for families in the community.

She went on to become a Program Coordinator for the New York City Department of Design and Construction’s Community Partnerships & STEAM Initiatives unit where she coordinated programs, events, and curricula implementation to middle school and high school students from Title I schools across the five boroughs. The team introduced the STEAM-related career fields of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction management to youth through their pipeline programs. With ingenuity, Gemelli designed a virtual program proposal for high school students and produced a curriculum/resource guide to further the teams' outreach to elementary school students. Gemelli found a passion for curriculum development and is currently enrolled in SUNY Albany Master’s Program for Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology.

As a current team member at Mouse, she believes in the future of STEAM education and plans to continue to develop her knowledge and skills in instructional design to enthuse students about the world of STEAM career fields.
