Con Edison Continues their Support of Mouse with a $23,000 Grant!

Mouse is incredibly grateful for the very generous grant from Con Edison of $23,000 to support Mouse Squad programming in four schools this year. We are very pleased that Con Edison is continuing the support of last year’s sponsored schools , The Paula Hedbavny School and P.S. 18 Park Terrace School, with the additional funding for two new schools for the FY13 school year — I.S. 392 and Ebbets Field Middle School.

Last year with Con Edison’s funding, the P.S. 18 Park Terrace School Mouse Squad developed a ticket-tracking system to handle tech support cases at their school. The Paula Hedbavny School’s Mouse Squad launched their own help desk and succeeded in reconfiguring an entire cart of outdated and unusable laptops, making them useful for their school again. They also created their own basic how-to guides for teachers who are working with SMART Boards and Elmo document cameras.

We greatly appreciate Con Edison’s continued partnership with Mouse. It is through their support that we are able to see the wonderful results of Mouse Squads in schools such as The Paula Hedbavny School and P.S. 18 Park Terrace School.

Since 2000, Con Edison has been a source of invaluable support for our growth and success, and because of this, we are able to continue empowering and inspiring students and through the effective use of technology in our public schools.

"Mouse provides a unique opportunity for students to give back to their school, deepening their sense of leadership and responsibility, and improving their relationships with peers and teachers--all the while getting hands-on experience in tech support, teamwork, and problem-solving" -- Maureen Guido, Principal, P.S./M.S. 278, The Paula Hedbavny School

Since 2000, Con Edison has been a source of invaluable support for our growth and success, and because of this, we are able to continue empowering and inspiring students and through the effective use of technology in our public schools.
