Council Member Robert Jackson Joins NYC Public School Students for Mouse Squad Team Training!
Mouse Squad students and educators from across the city were excited to welcome New York City Council Member Robert Jackson to the Spring Team Training on Saturday, February 4th!
Council Member Jackson serves as Chair of the Education Committee for the New York City Council and has been a long time supporter of Mouse.
After the welcome presentation, Council Member Jackson was introduced by Mike Capobianco, Mouse Director of Development.
Council Member Jackson gave an inspiring speech, showing his enthusiasm for Mouse and calling the audience to action. He shared examples of why perseverance mattered in his personal life including his attempts to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.
The Council Member took part in the Mouse-Mallow challenge, where students worked as teams to create the largest towers using marshmallows and pasta.
Council Member Jackson also shared his desire to see the Mouse program grow to more schools. He encouraged all the students to take advantage of this unique opportunity and and stated "If you stay in the Mouse program the entire time you’re in school, I guarantee you will graduate from high school.”
