Games for Change Student Challenge Deadline Extended

Educators in NYC, LA, Atlanta and Detroit, have until August 30th to apply for the 2019-2020 Games for Change Student Challenge!

What is the G4C Student Challenge?

Games for Change first piloted a game design competition for young people to create games about serious issues in New York City in 2015, and since then it has grown to include four cities from coast to coast. In 2016 Mouse partnered with the G4C Student Challenge becoming the official curriculum provider, providing educator support in the form of our Serious Games course. In September 2019, Mouse will be releasing the “Impact Game Design Course” to better support educators and students through the Games For Change Student Challenge.

Each year participants choose a topic to make a game about from a set of themes available. The themes for the 2019 challenge are Automated Communities 2050, Endangered Species, and Disrupt Aging: Implications of Living 100. Youth in NYC also had the option to create games around Gender Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.
