Mouse Receives $40,000 Grant from the Pinkerton Foundation to Support Mouse Corps
Mouse is honored to receive a $40,000 grant from the Pinkerton Foundation!
This grant will be used to continue the growth of the Mouse Corps program and is in addition to their grant to support of Emoti-Con! last year.
Established by Robert Allan Pinkerton in 1966, the Pinkerton Foundation supports development programs that provide youth from economically disadvantaged communities of New York City with opportunities for academic development and career readiness.
Mouse Corps is a youth-centered design and technology program that provides high school students from Mouse Squads across NYC with the opportunity to develop emerging leadership, professional and technical skills.
Through the support of the Pinkerton Foundation, Mouse will continue to provide Mouse Corp students with the means to “extend their experience into the community and apply their skills to support work in these areas while developing the professional training they need to ensure their future career success.”
This past summer, many Mouse Corps students participated in summer apprenticeships where they were paired with technology mentors and had the opportunity to explore potential career paths while working on authentic technology projects. Through these experiences, students gain real world work experience and develop relationships with experts in different technology fields.
We are incredibly thankful for the support of the Pinkerton Foundation and their helping us to provide new opportunities for our Mouse Corps that better prepare them for academic and professional success!
