All of us at Mouse demand justice for George Floyd's murder by Minneapolis police officers. Mouse stands in solidarity with all victims of police violence, with Black and brown communities, with students and educators, with partner non-profits, and with individuals in the fight against systemic racism and anti-Black brutality.

As we confront a pandemic that is disproportionately impacting Black communities, we strongly condemn the structural racism that continues to plague our country. Discrimination, brutality, dispossession, and disenfranchisement have profoundly impacted Black America’s ability to create and accumulate wealth, and to gain access to jobs, housing, education, and health care.

All forms of racism and discrimination must be eradicated. Mouse commits to make our organization’s stance against racist oppression more explicit and to continually evaluate our programs and internal policies through this lens. Furthermore, Mouse will listen and act to ensure that our work supports diversity, inclusion, and educational equity. We will carry out this mission through allyship, advocacy, and action on behalf of the most disenfranchised communities.

Words are not enough. Our first action is to continue this conversation among our staff members. Mouse is committed to taking tangible actions with defined outcomes. We will follow up in the coming weeks.
