Winners for Mouse Microproject: Hidden Object Gamer

Happy New Year! Before the holiday season began, we asked you all to explore the expansive world of video game creation by making a Hidden Object Game using Wick Editor. We worked with the team at Wick Editor to design this particular challenge and were blown away by the inventive, fun and finely crafted games you all made. Thanks for all of your terrific submissions!

Grand Prize

Our Grand Prize Winner, taking home a $25 Amazon Gift Card, is this hidden spider game by ss376109 from McPherson Magnet School in Orange, California! We enjoyed how much ss376109 embraced the concept of the hidden object game and took inspiration from our starter template to make something completely new. All of the frames in this project were drawn by ss376109 including the interior of the house and the many objects found inside. There are also two endings that can be reached by either finding the spider hidden in the room or finding the expertly hidden key to reach the true ending. Excellent work, ss376109!

1st Runner Up

Our 1st Runner Up is Key Mini Game by UndeadPlayer at Helen Bernstein High School in Hollywood, California! This entry made excellent use of color to bring the interior of the house to life. We also really liked the customized final frame that greets the player once they’ve found the hidden key. Awesome work, UndeadPlayer.

2nd Runner Up

Our 2nd Runner Up is this wonderful game by alexanderl4883 from Stephen A Halsey JHS in Queens, New York! This submission was one of the most fun to play as alexanderl4883 spent time enhancing the game by adding more hiding places for the player to explore. This made for a more challenging experience as it took us some time to actually find the hidden key! Great work, alexanderl4883!

Our Grand Prize winner will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card for their school, and our 1st and 2nd Runners up will each win a prize of their choice from our new prize chest!

The current Microproject opened for submissions during last month’s Hour of Code but is still going strong and accepting submissions until Jan 31! This month, your challenge is to make a game about a real world issue in Scratch.
