Senior Director of Program Strategy and Impact
Danny Shapiro joined Mouse in January 2023. A former educator, Danny has dedicated his career to leading innovations that foster long-term educator sustainability. Transitioning to teaching middle school in 2012 in Oakland, California after a previous international policy career, Danny has since led large-scale change management and communications initiatives for a large California school district, as well as designed and led the implementation of research activities to advance the scientific insights that help strengthen child development. Most recently, Danny led a community of educators at Osmo, an education technology that fosters the joy of learning through both digital and physical learning.
Danny received his B.A. in Politics from Brandeis University, and his MA in Education from University of the Pacific. He also holds an MA in Public Policy from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, and an MA in Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, Netherlands.
Outside of work, Danny loves seeing live music, riding his bicycle around his current home city of Philadelphia, and spending time with his husband and two cats.
