Building Turbines at Andrew Jackson Language Academy in Chicago
This fall, AJLA’s Mouse Squad kicked off another school year by learning about renewable energy and the role of turbines. Using the Mouse Green Tech curriculum, students had the opportunity to build their own turbines from classroom materials and used a multimeter to see how much current the generators produce when they spin the turbine.
This fun and interactive hands-on activity helped the students foster a deeper understanding in the role turbines play to power generators to produce electricity.
AJLA is one of the schools served within Chicago Public Schools, a longstanding partner of Mouse. Because of the generous support of CPS and our friends at the Polk Bros. Foundation and CME Group Foundation, we look forward to continue serving the young learners of Chicago Public Schools.
