Mouse Receives Two New Exciting Grants from Hive Digital Media Learning Fund!
We are thrilled to announce that Mouse has received two grants from the Hive Digital Media Learning Fund with partners from the Hive Learning Network NYC!
Started in 2010 by the MacArthur Foundation and The New York Community Trust, the Hive Digital Media Learning Fund was created to bring together and involve today’s educators and youth to “design new and exciting ways to learn, create, and participate beyond the classroom.” Focused on providing new and engaging opportunities for youth in the areas of digital media and technology, the Hive Digital Media Learning Fund supports MOUSE and other organizations from the Hive Learning Network NYC.
Mouse students will have the wonderful opportunity to work on new projects with a $39,000 grant in collaboration with Parsons the New School for Design, for gadgITERATION, a program that fuses the world of fashion design and technology.
Also partnering with Reel Works, Mouse and other organizations of the HIVE Learning Network (WNYC Radio Rookies, The LAMP, and the New School for Social Research) received a $50,000 grant for the development of transmedia stories, a technique of telling a single story using diverse platforms and multiple formats using digital technologies.
Mouse looks forward to its students having this great opportunity to venture into new technological territory! Many thanks to the MacArthur Foundation and New York Community Trust for their generous support of the Hive Digital Media Learning Fund! Read more about their latest grants here.
