Mouse Squad of California Students Attend Best Buy Teen Tech Summit
Best Buy’s Geek Squad hosted a Teen Tech Summit at The Tech Museum in San Jose this September where Northern California students, including students from three Mouse Squad of California (MSCA) schools, met up for an exciting day of fun and learning.
Geek Squad Agents were on hand for the event and led students in various activities that included disassembling a computer, building a working LED light, constructing a mini roller coaster, and learning the ins and outs of e-recycling.
Mouse Squad students from St. Anthony’s School in Oakland said their favorite part of the day was taking apart the computers and learning how to dispose of the e-waste properly, while a student from Union Middle School in San Jose expressed, “Having our picture taken with the GEEK BUG was cool!”
A Mouse Squad student from Livingston Middle School in Livingston, CA said of the experience, “I learned how to wire a circuit, recycle a computer, and how fun it is to be a Geek Squad Agent.”
The Mouse Squad Coordinator, David Mires, commented that his students “were exposed to many different types of technology skills that excited them for the future.” Mires added, “I just want to say thank you to Best Buy and Mouse Squad of California for inviting us to participate in the Teen Tech Summit and we are looking forward to their next event.”
