Mouse Students Present Technology Projects and Celebrate Creativity and Innovation at Maker Faire!

WHAT: Mouse, a national youth development organization, will officially kickoff the new school year at Maker Faire, the world’s largest showcase of invention and creativity. Mouse students from schools across New York City will attend this event that brings together tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers and those celebrating the “maker” culture.

Mouse empowers students to be the technology and digital media experts in their schools and inspires them to be creators, thinkers and innovators. Mouse provides unique opportunities for students to become actively involved in the “maker” movement including design and prototyping workshops, mentoring and developing in-depth technology projects that positively impact their schools and communities.

At Maker Faire, Mouse students will join other members of the Hive Learning Network NYC in the Young Makers Tent and present their award-winning projects designed to address the technology needs of the blind and visually impaired, including apps and physical computing projects for navigation, clothing and dining. Through an exciting partnership with MakerBot, Mouse students will also present 3D printing projects at the MakerBot booth, including a model geodesic dome created with the MakerBot printers in their schools.

WHEN: Saturday, September 29th
10:00am-3:00pm (the event is open until 7:00pm)
