A New Chapter For Mouse -- Seeking Our Next Executive Director
After nearly six years of service and leadership, Daniel has decided to step down as Mouse's Executive Director, effective July 19th, 2019. Please join us in applauding the work he has done and the dedication he has shown to the organization. We will be forever grateful.
We feel strongly that this moment in time in the organization's history is a logical one. In his six years as ED, Daniel has helped create significant change for the learners, educators & mentors Mouse serves. He was a key driver bringing Mouse and Code/Interactive together, expanding the Mouse Design League, expanding our STEM + CS content (e.g., Green Tech, Wearable Tech, Serious Games) and continuing the build-out of our digital learning platform Mouse Create.
Daniel leaves Mouse as a friend, and we look forward to maintaining a new relationship with him moving forward. Daniel will join Mouse's advisory council once he steps down as Executive Director.
Now Mouse is looking for a new leader to join this team as we embark on the next chapter in our growth and evolution. To do so, Mouse retained Jessica Goldfarb who will act as the Mouse Interim Executive Director, and is already engaged and working closely with Daniel until his departure. Jessica’s primary responsibility will be to lead the search for Mouse's next ED on behalf of the Board. She will also be actively involved in managing some of our day to day operations, and be a point of contact/resource for our employees. Our goal is to find that truly exceptional leader that can continue our vision and lead this organization into the future.
We invite you to recommend potential ED candidates to Jessica at jobs@mouse.org. We are evaluating Mouse’s current needs and will post the job description very soon. Please also schedule some time with her as she is getting to know all our team members, and would welcome your thoughts and feedback.
We also encourage you to reach out to Daniel as he is in transition (daniel@mouse.org) if there are any items/questions that he can help with.
In the meantime, the Mouse Board, the Mouse Associate Board, and the Mouse staff look forward to this next chapter in our work, while maintaining our unwavering commitment to the Mouse mission.
Sincerely,
Amy & Kirk, Mouse Board Co-Chairs
