3D Space Model Mouse Microproject Winners
Another month, another awesome set of submissions from you creative folks! This past month, you were challenged to build a 3D model in Tinkercad of something you’d like to launch into outer space. As always the submissions we received from you all were innovative, risk-taking and most importantly, fun to look at. If we had a rocket of our own, we’d print each and every one on a 3D printer and then rocket them out to join the stars! Thanks for amazing us again with your fabulous submissions!
Grand Prize
Our Grand Prize winner was a submission called NASA Discovery Rocket Shuttle by 18SummeYoko at Union Middle School in San Jose, California! We were positively blown away by the level of detail in 18SummeYoko’s CAD model! 18SummeYoko was clearly inspired by the spacecrafts launched in NASA’s Discovery Program and modelled a combined shuttle and rocket that’s detailed enough to serve as a prototype model for the real thing. Excellent work, 18SummeYoko!
1st Runner Up
Our 1st Runner up is a tie between two submissions: jack2838’s and Willyyy’s, both from McPherson Magnet School in Orange, California! jack2838’s submission was another incredibly detailed model that knocked our socks off. We adored the inclusion of a solar panel on top of the satellite that indicates that jack2838 is thinking like a professional engineer when modeling. Willyyy’s submission was a simple design with a message that really spoke to one of the many hopes of space exploration: a small radio with the words “We come in peace” on its front that really showcases the human desire to make friends with any life out there waiting to greet us. It also happens to work very nicely with April’s Microproject! Awesome job, jack2838 & Willyyy!
2nd Runner Up
Our 2nd Runner up was made by xichlali124 at Florence Nightingale Middle School in Los Angeles, California! We loved xichlali124’s submission for its heartwarming description and thoughtful design. xichlali124 brings the stars to you with a model that emulates the starry night sky and satellite drifting overhead. Great job, xichlali124!.
Our honorable mentions go out this month to:
- e.garcia's submission was a playful and meticulously modeled nod to a cartoon legend.
- gr4student3’s entry was of an astronaut who looked somehow cuddly and adventurous!
Our Grand Prize winner will receive a $50 Adafruit Gift Certificate for their school, and our 1st and 2nd Runners up will each win a prize of their choice from our new prize chest!
There are only two more contests left this school year! This month your challenge is to make a song in Soundation that represents what life is like on Earth!
