Mouse Selected as National Curriculum Provider for Games4Change Student Challenge
We are very proud to announce that Mouse will serve as the official curriculum partner of the Games for Change (G4C) Student Challenge!
The G4C Student Challenge is a digital game design competition that invites middle and high school students to create original games about real-world issues impacting their communities. The 2016-2017 program will be held in New York City, Dallas, and Pittsburgh public schools.
As the National Curriculum Partner, Mouse will:
Provide our Serious Games Course on the Mouse Create learning platform to up to 20 schools per city in New York, Dallas, and Pittsburgh
Facilitate professional development for educators in these cities
Work with G4C to support the development of the Challenge competition guidelines, requirements and evaluation criteria
Additionally, through our involvement in the Hive Learning Network, Mouse has been involved in the “Movable Game Jam Initiative,” bringing together youth that are passionate about games to design, remix and playtest games, while also networking with professional game designers.
This year, Mouse Learning Design staff will join Hive Learning Network partners to host year round Game Jams which are free and open to all NYC middle and high school students.
This year, Mouse will help make these Game Jams support the G4C Student Challenge by using our Serious Games projects as part of the Movable Game Jams this November and December.
